Beach

One of the most popular features of our resort is the beach and swimming area. Families with kids will generally spend a lot of their vacation time digging in the sand and splashing around in the water. Most of the resorts on the south shore of Lake Nipissing can offer shallow swimming areas and sandy beaches but not many can offer a protected shoreline and beach area like Rockview.

An island situated just offshore ensures that parents never have to worry about rough water or boat traffic near the swimming area. Not only that but the beach area and waterfront are clearly visible from all of our cottages making it a little less stressful for parents. A number of large trees near the beach provide everyone with some shade from the midday sun.

Boat Docks

Rockview Cottages has a large well protected boat docking area. We can accommodate up to 14 boats of various shapes and sizes. Our shore is protected by an island just offshore which means that even during the worst weather conditions, your boat is kept safe and sound.

Our dock is located just steps away from the cottages, so you won’t have any trouble bringing your fishing gear down to the boat and bringing your catch up for dinner.

Paddleboats, Canoes and Kayaks

Rockview Cottages has a paddleboat available for guests to use free of charge. A paddleboat is the best way for many guests to safely explore the nearby waters.

We also have two kayaks and one canoe that are available free to all guests. This is the perfect way to explore the nearby islands or sneak away for some peace and quiet out on the water.

Please note that we require that all persons wear a lifejacket while using any watercraft and we provide lifejackets in most sizes for adults and kids.

Playground

Another important consideration for families with young kids is the availability and location of a playground. While many cottage resorts have playgrounds, none of them can match Rockview’s playground location and extensive equipment which includes slides, swings, 2 playhouses and 4 separate climbing structures.

Rockview’s playground is visible from all of the cottages. This means that you can sit and enjoy a drink or cook dinner on the BBQ while still allowing younger children to play safely.

Fish Cleaning Station

We are happy to provide a top quality fish cleaning facility for our guests. Everything you need to clean your catch is provided, including running water, large counter space, newspaper, soap and paper towels.

We also provide freezer bags and have freezer space available just in case you catch so many fish that you run out of room in your freezer.

Campfires

Make sure you plan to spend a few evenings of your vacation relaxing around the campfire. Our fire pit is located right on the beach where you can enjoy the spectacular sunset views or do a little stargazing.
